FAQs
What is the CreditTrust certificate?
CreditTrust is the digital alternative to the extract from the debt enforcement register.
It is a digital creditworthiness certificate that is secured via a blockchain.
The applicant is certified as having a good credit rating based on the ratings of the two largest Swiss credit agencies.
What are the advantages of a CreditTrust certificate?
A CreditTrust certificate has several advantages over an extract from the debt enforcement register:
Advantages for customers:
- Quick and easy - available digitally in 3 minutes
- User-friendly - applied for online and can be reused for multiple applications
- Maximum data protection - security and protection of sensitive creditworthiness data
Advantages for recipients:
- Nationally verified creditworthiness - CreditTrust checks the applicant's creditworthiness in parallel with the two leading Swiss credit information databases CRIF and Intrum
- Forgery-proof - the CreditTrust certificate is secured on the Ethereum blockchain. This makes counterfeiting impossible
- Simple process integration - can be integrated immediately via QR code or REST API interface
Validity and points of acceptance
How long is a CreditTrust certificate valid?
A CreditTrust certificate does not have a fixed validity date and can therefore be used several times. Due to the fact that creditworthiness can change over time, we recommend a validity period of approx. 3 months since the certificate was issued. Ultimately, each acceptance point decides for itself how old the CreditTrust certificates it wishes to accept may be.
Which companies accept CreditTrust?
Over 200 companies from various sectors now accept the CreditTrust certificate. More companies from the property sector, the financial industry, the security and transport sector and the recruitment and employment agency sector are added every day. To make sure whether a company accepts the CreditTrust certificate, it is best to ask the company directly whether a CreditTrust certificate is accepted instead of a debt enforcement report.
What can I do if a company does not accept the CreditTrust certificate?
Please let us know via support@credittrust.ch. You can also contact the point of acceptance directly regarding an alternative.
Security and data protection
What makes the CreditTrust certificate forgery-proof?
When the certificate is created, a digital fingerprint (a so-called hash) is calculated, which is backed up over 7,000 times worldwide on the Ethereum blockchain. The verification tool can be used to check the authenticity of a certificate. The tool calculates the digital fingerprint of a certificate and compares it with the digital fingerprints already secured on the blockchain. This makes it impossible to forge a certificate.
How long is the CreditTrust certificate stored?
The certificate will be permanently deleted from Certifaction 72 hours after creation.
Further information on data protection can be found in our privacy policy.
Costs and payment methods
What does a CreditTrust certificate cost?
If a CreditTrust certificate is successfully ordered, the customer pays CHF 27.90. If no CreditTrust certificate can be issued, no costs will be charged.
What payment methods are accepted?
Payments can be made by Visa, Mastercard, Twint or purchase on invoice.
Order process and automatic identification check
Why do I need an official ID to order a CreditTrust certificate?
In order to create a CreditTrust certificate, personal creditworthiness information is requested which, for data protection reasons, may not be disclosed without verification of your identity document. Depending on your nationality, the following documents are accepted for the identity check: Passport, identity card or foreigner's identity card (Ausländerausweis).
How does the identification check work in the order process?
So that we can verify your identity, an automatic identity check is carried out using IDnow. The easiest way to order your CreditTrust certificate is via smartphone and download the IDnow AutoIdent app (iOS: App Store or Android: Google Play Store). Alternatively, you can also carry out the identification process via a browser on your computer.
Certificate issuance not possible
In which case can no CreditTrust certificate be issued?
A certificate will not be issued if, for example, the applicant is not known to CRIF or Intrum. The same applies if the applicant is not at least 18 years old and/or is not resident in Switzerland.
What happens if there is negative credit information or the applicant is not known to CRIF or Intrum?
If the result is negative or the applicant is not known to CRIF or Intrum, no CreditTrust certificate can be issued. In the event of negative creditworthiness information, the applicant has the option of applying for a request for information (Intrum) or a self-disclosure (CRIF).
